Get your lender’s “full approval” and not just getting “pre-approved”. It's important when you want to buy a new home. If you want some suggestions of a lender, I have a few who I trust and have helped past clients. They explain things in terms I easily understand.
Prior to calling a lender, find all your necessary paperwork. You will need pay stubs, W2’s, tax returns, & bank statements for the past 2-3 years. Veterans will need their DD-214 or equivalent. All this is important to buy a home.
Don't transfer large sums of money. Don't open/close any credit cards. Don't buy or lease a new car (short term airport rentals excepted). Don't change jobs or make large deposits unless you tell the lender first. It could impact your credit when you buy your new home.
He can tell you what home price range you can qualify to buy, and he should be able to tell you of all the optional help programs.
